The traditional city reception of St. Nicholas will be organized this year by the 30th BOOK FAIR(Y) IN ISTRIA Pula. The event “Reception of St. Nicholas of Books and the Sea,” will take place on December 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM as part of the jubilee and will be related to books and reading. The program is envisioned as a parade of St. Nicholas from the Arena to the House of Croatian Veterans. In the parade, St. Nicholas will ride a horse, accompanied by angels on stilts and sailor drummers, and along the way, elementary school children from lower grades will join them. The parade will be greeted at the Book Fair(y) by numerous children with a program by DJ Krampus and mischievous dwarfs. Children will receive books and an orange as gifts, in the spirit of tradition.
On the same day, at 6:00 PM, the second “Reception of St. Nicholas of Books and the Sea” will take place in the Blue Salon of the House of Croatian Veterans, featuring St. Nicholas, DJ Krampus, and the fair character Ludita.
The entire program is directed by Mario Kovač.
